How do I connect to a cloud server via SSH?
PuTTY accepts keys in .ppk format, so you need to convert them using PuTTYgen, which can be downloaded from https://baehost.com/dl.php?type=d&id=19
- Download the private key (.rsa file) from the client area.
- Open PuTTYgen.
- Select RSA.
- Import the .rsa file by clicking "Load".
- Click "Save private key".
- Click "Yes".
- Give it a name and save it.
- Open PuTTY, which can be downloaded from https://baehost.com/dl.php?type=d&id=18.
- Go to the Connection menu -> SSH -> Auth.
- Add the private key file generated in step 7.
- Return to the Session menu and enter the server's IP address.
- Connect.
- Use the username corresponding to your installed Linux distribution.
To connect with the generated .ppk key, repeat from step 8. You can also save the connection for future use.
